Jean-Georges Schwartz - Chairman & CEO
Jean-Georges has served as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer since 1998. Prior to the formation of Four J's, he was the founder and Chief Executive officer of UNIX DATA an IT company and PHOEBUS an IT engineering company, both of which he ran respectively for more than 10 years.
Prior to founding these companies, Jean-Georges was a fighter pilot in the french airforce. He has a mathematics degree and is qualified at the French Military Air School.
Bryn Jenkins - COO
As Chief Operating Officer at Four J's since January 2001, Bryn's role is to ensure predictable growth and profitability for the group. He brings more than 24 years of sales, marketing and technical experience with computer systems manufacturers and software vendors. Bryn develops the business strategy and manages its day to day running.
Prior to Four J's, Bryn lead indirect sales at Inktomi Europe and ran marketing and channel sales for Netscape Communications Europe. Before that, Bryn ran Novell Europe's OEM and then later its distribution business after serving as European Programme Director for the AViiON & CLARiiON product lines at Data General Corporation. Before that, Bryn spent 10 years at Acer/Altos Computer Systems in technical and marketing roles.
Xavier Cotereau - CFO
As Chief Financial Officer, Xavier's key role is to perform the financial reporting and management of the Four J's Group.
Prior to Four J's, Xavier spent 10 years at Brandt & Segula as Finance Director. Prior to this, he performed the role of Director Group Accounting for 10 years at Moulinex and Arjo-Wiggins.
Xavier started his career as an auditor for Ernst & Young for 6 years after graduating in finance and administration at the Business School of Angers and also in Accounting.
Patrick Moore - VP Americas
Patrick Moore joined Four J’s in February 2008 as Vice President, Americas. He is responsible for managing and growing Four J’s business in both North and South America.
Pat joins Four J’s from ANTs Software inc. where, as Vice President, Global Alliances and Government Sector, he was responsible for building and enabling strategic relationships for the company.
One such partnership, with IBM Corporation’s US Government’s Federal group, resulted in a milestone sale of the ANTs database to Raytheon Corporation and the US Navy for use in a next-generation Naval Destroyer program. Pat personally drove that sale and managed both IBM Federal and Raytheon relationships. Also in this role, Pat worked with Four J’s in the roll-out of GeneroDB and brings a wealth of experience in the database marketplace to Four J’s.
Pat is a seasoned sales and business development professional with a strong track record of success in building and managing high-growth and customer-centric teams. Formally trained at Unisys in pre-sales and sales, and with extensive experience in enterprise software infrastructure, Pat has held global sales management positions at (UNIX pioneer) Interactive Systems Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Platinum Technologies (database tools) and Artemis International Solutions Corporation (enterprise project and portfolio management).
Pat is a graduate of Stanford University, speaks Spanish and Portuguese and, for those familiar with American Football, was a starting linebacker on Stanford’s last two victorious Rose Bowl teams.
Cliff Hersh - Chief Scientist
Cliff is the original architect of ANTs Data Server, now known as Genero db. As author of the company’s patents, he is still very involved in design and provides advice on core database kernel issues. His current focus is on product specifications, systems architecture, product design, and engineering management based on his extensive experience in computer graphics, networking and parallel processing.
Prior to this, Cliff was Chief Executive Officer of Move, which provides high bandwidth solutions for multiprocessing and digital signal processing. The company has produced some of the lowest cost, highest performance network switching systems in existence for clients such as Hewlett Packard, Siemens, Digital Equipment Corporation, and EPRI.
Mr. Hersh was also Vice President of Engineering for Array Technologies, Inc. and Director of Advanced Development for Genigraphics Corporation (a General Electric Company). Mr. Hersh received a B.S. degree in Mathematics from the University of California, Berkeley, after which he received an M.A. in Engineering from the Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich, Switzerland.
Jeff Spirn - VP R & D Database
Jeff is a senior member of the organization playing multiple roles in design, benchmarking and competitive analysis. He is very active with customers and prospective customers and often provides consulting on complex data management issues. He still writes and debugs code, including C, C++ and JAVA. Jeff has been involved with every product release.
Before joining ANTs, Jeff was a software architect at Oracle, where he worked on application server, naming, and multithreading issues. Prior to that, he developed computer graphics systems for Sun Microsystems and oversaw networking and operating systems advanced development at the HP and DEC research labs.
Before his industrial career, Jeff was a Computer Science Professor at Brown and Penn State Universities, and held visiting positions at Bell Laboratories and the University of Hawaii. During this period, he published one book and many technical articles on network and operating system design and performance modeling.
Jeff holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering/Computer Science from Princeton University, and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from M.I.T.
Joe Golden - VP Sales, USA & Canada
Joe Golden joined Four J’s in the spring of 2002. As Vice President of Sales, USA & Canada, he greatly contributed to the region's growth by developing its major account business. His responsibilities include defining the local sales strategy, managing the sales force and driving double digit growth for the region.
Joe is a seasoned sales professional with a strong track record of success in creating and managing high-growth and customer-focused organizations. Prior to Four J’s, Joe held technical and sales management positions at AlphaBlox (purchased by IBM), Asymetrix (Paul Allen start-up with a successful IPO), and Microsoft.
Joe’s most recent graduate degree is a Masters in Business Administration from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
David J. Salazar Sandoval - Regional Manager, Latin America
David J. Salazar Sandoval joined Four J's in 1999 to launch Latin America operations. With over 30 years experience in the Computer and Telecommunications business, David has a strong technical and marketing background.
Before joining Four J's, David ran the sales division of Unibase - one of Informix's most successful distributors. Prior to that, David worked in Transdata, Toshiba and other industry IT manufacturers.
After 5 years existence, Four J's Latin America now prides itself with a third place position in the Mexican developmentent tools market for 2005 behind behind IBM (n°2) and Microsoft (n°1) - according to Select (formerly IDC Mexico). With a steady double digit growth this year Four J's Latin America is poised to maintain this strong position in 2006.
David studied computer engineering (76-80) at the UNAM in Mexico City.
Manuel Jorge Sousa - Regional Manager, Iberia
Manuel Jorge worked closely with Four J's since 1997, before finally opening the Madrid office in 2003 as Vice President Iberian Sales. His mission is to develop the Spanish, Portuguese, North African, Greek and Turkish territories.
After a brief period in the early 80’s working with mainframes within J.P.Coats Group and Fomento, Manuel Jorge converted to open systems with his own business in 1983 distributing Informix Software Inc. databases and tools.
Manuel's broad technical and management experience make him hot property on the conference circuit, where he is frequently invited to share his vision for the tools and database market.
Manuel Jorge studied electronics and computer science at the Oporto University, Portugal.
Neil O'Meara - Regional Manager, North Europe, Middle East and South Africa
Neil O’Meara has worked with Four J’s since 1997, first as a distributor and then as Director of the newly opened UK office in 2000. With over 30 years experience in the software business Neil is developing the Northern European, Middle Eastern and Southern African territories.
In 1981 Neil started his own business to develop and distribute software and was an Informix database and toolset 'early adopter'. Neil grew this company to be a market leader in its field.
After selling this company in the early 90’s, he took responsibility for the development and support of a large and diverse range of applications developed in many different languages.
Neil’s strong product and market knowledge ensures that Four J’s UK is poised to continue it’s double digit growth in 2006.
